Categories
The 2009 awards are split into three categories:-
Independent - Stores in independent ownership either as a single outlet or as part of a chain of nine stores or fewer, whether they trade under their own fascia or that of a wholesaler/symbol group.
Multiples - Stores belonging to a chain of 10 or more outlets in the same ownership, whether they trade under their own fascia or that of a wholesaler/symbol group.
Large Convenience Store - Stores in this category can be under independent, independent symbol or multiple ownership, and are 3,000sq ft to 10,000sq ft in size.
Finalists on each of these categories will be considered for one of the following awards:
Independent Convenience Store of the Year
Multiple Convenience Store of the Year
- Large Convenience Store of the Year
Culminating in the award for
- Convenience Retailer of the Year 2009
There are also a number of special awards, to recognise excellence in particular disciplines of convenience retailing. You can enter these whether you enter the main store awards above or not.
- Responsible Retailer of the Year, sponsored by Imperial Tobacco
- Food to Go Retailer of the Year, sponsored by Country Choice
- Store Innovation of the Year, sponsored by Premier Foods
- Chilled Foods retailer of the Year, sponsored by Müller Dairy
- Excellence in Impulse Award, sponsored by GSK
- Category Management Award, sponsored by P&G
- Zero Tolerance Award for Crime Prevention
- Independent News Trader of the Year
In addition to the main prizes, presentations will be made at the Awards dinner for the following accolades:
- Convenience Retail Lifetime Achievement
- Wholesale Business Initiative of the Year
- Product of the Year
